FOCUS FIRE - Madden Football 2010 Tournament Rules & Format Signups: 9 a.m. – 12 noon Start Time: 1 p.m. Maximum Number of Competitors: 64 Entry Fee: FREE! Tournament Difficulty: All Madden Mode Tournament Type: Single Elimination Quarter Length: 4 minutes Eligibility and Limitations: The event is open to any and all players who feel confident enough to compete in a competitive tournament. Tournament Preparation: - Be prepared to play any of the teams in Madden Football 2010. - We will have updated rosters! - There may be a few extra setups to practice on before the event. If you would like to bring your own setup, feel free to (small TV, console, controllers and game, BYOS). - It is the responsibility of the competitors to know how to play Madden 2010. - Players will use wired or wireless Xbox 360 controllers that we provide. The Tournament Organizers will not provide "How To Play" instructions. Console and Game Settings: - All consoles, games, accessories will be supplied at the event. - No cheats will be allowed to boost scores, nor will the use of objects external to the controllers be allowed. Should a participant be caught cheating or using an external object, they will be immediately disqualified. - Team Selection: A. Once participant has entered tournament, such participant may play with any one of the current 32 (thirty two) NFL teams. The all-time teams/ fantasy teams are not allowed in the Tournament. B. Coin toss for first team pick - Game Settings: a. Quarter length: 4 minutes b. Skill Level: All Madden c. Playbook: Any d. All other settings will be default e. Overtime (OT) will decide all ties. If tied after 1 OT, then will continue playing and the next person to score a touchdown wins. In Depth Rules: No pausing, delays or rewinds allowed. If you do pause a game (by deliberately pressing the START button), then you must burn a timeout as a penalty. If you have no timeouts left, you will be required to take a penalty (delay of game for offense, or off sides for defense). Players have 3 minutes, upon notification that they’re next to play, to report to their match or they will face immediate disqualification. We need to keep the event moving in a timely fashion. By participating in the Tournament, competitors agree to be bound by the decisions of the Tournament organizers. Anybody who violates any rule, gains unfair advantages while participating in the Tournament, or obtains winner status using fraudulent means will be disqualified. No gambling on games allowed. Unsportsmanlike, disruptive, annoying, harassing or threatening behavior is prohibited. Foul language of any kind will not be permitted or tolerated. We reserve the right to remove anybody we wish from the premises. No memory cards or saved games allowed. Shaking, jiggling (looking left and right in rapid succession to shake the screen while on offense or defense) is prohibited. Any other action designed to disrupt the opposing player’s view of the field, or ability to select controlled players, is prohibited and may result in disqualification. If there is a disruption to the game to a technical issue (ex. the 360 freezes, a power failure occurs etc. etc.) the game will be restarted. If in the 4th quarter and a player is up by 2 or more touchdowns he/she will automatically win the game. Any intentional distraction to the players while they are playing will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the premises, including turning off the game. All decisions will be made by the Tournament Organizers and are final. The Tournament Organizers may waive any of these rules in their sole discretion and/or may make determinations and rulings that are contrary to rules in the spirit of fairness.
